 by Spider-Man 2099 Question by Ben Wilson: Repainting a Weather Guard toolbox? I found a nice aluminum tool box in a metal scrap bin, I’d like to repaint it. There’s this weird plastic coat that’s peeling off, what i believe was a rust proof coating. is there an easy way to get this coating off? Secondly, can i use any kinda paint, or use a specific kind/brand, and is there anything i should do to make the paint adhere better? My idea was to ‘fill the gutters with air’. Went to Menards and their price for this plasticy foam inserts was TOO OUT OF RANGE for us. I was thinking about stringing (with wide plastic tape to secure the bottles together) gatorade bottles (24 oz), and inserting them down into the gutters. They are very light weight and the principle of my idea sounds good. I would like some discussion from you regarding whether or not it would be disasterous to do this. I just have this feeling it’s not a good idea but don’t know why. The bottles would just sit nicely in there all empty/capped and takin’ up space,,inconspicuous from the road too!!
