Lebanon, OH (PRWEB) December 21, 2011

E-BEAM Services, Inc. hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on December 16, 2011 to celebrate the completion of a $ 10 million project, which added 26,000 square feet and a second electron beam accelerator to the companys Lebanon, Ohio plant, doubling its throughput capacity, creating new jobs, and making the company the largest contract electron beam processor in the western hemisphere. In its now 90,000 square foot facility, E-BEAM provides medical product sterilization, bioreduction and polymer crosslinking for manufacturers in the United States and Canada.

According to Company President Paul Minbiole, This expansion allows us to serve our customers even better by adding value to their products with significantly more capacity and flexibility than weve been able to provide in the past. E-BEAM offers a cost-effective method for improving plastics performance. In addition, E-BEAM can sterilize products in original shipping containers, which maintains package integrity and saves companies time and money. The electron beam process, which modifies physical, chemical, and biological properties of products and raw materials, is environmentally friendly, neither leaving by-product materials nor storing radiation in target goods.

Since 2009, three companies outside the E-BEAM Services local region have elected to locate facilities near E-BEAM to maximize access to electron beam processing. E-BEAM expects to attract more specialty manufacturers over the next several years, as the company is now prepared to double the $ 100 million in goods they process annually in the Lebanon facility.

About E-BEAM Services:

E-BEAM Services, Inc. is the leading supplier of contract electron beam processing services for product sterilization/bioreduction and polymer product enhancement, with more than 500kW of installed accelerator capacityenough to process nearly one billion pounds of material annually. E-BEAM was incorporated in 1985 to acquire the electron beam service division of a subsidiary of Monsanto and is a privately owned corporation with over 50 employees in Lebanon, OH, Cranbury, NJ and Lafayette, IN. For more information about this expansion or general information about E-BEAM Services, call 1-877-413-2326 or visit the companys website at: http://www.ebeamservices.com.

Thornton Cleveleys, UK (PRWEB) October 9, 2007

Victrex plc, a leading provider of high performance materials through the manufacture of VICTREX? PEEK? polymer, has opened a new polymer manufacturing plant at its main production facility in Thornton Cleveleys in Lancashire, UK. The new facility has been built to support future demand for VICTREX PEEK polymer and VICTREX PEEK-based products, such as VICOTE? Coatings and APTIV? Film. It will provide further security of supply to customers, increasing production capacity by approximately 50 percent and establishing a second stand-alone source of VICTREX PEEK polymer.

Victrex has invested ?32 million in this facility which has the ability to produce1,450 tonnes per annum of VICTREX PEEK products, increasing Victrex’s total production capacity for these products to 4,250 tonnes per annum. To support the new plant opening Victrex has also increased its production workforce by eight and opened three new apprenticeship positions.

“The opening of this new plant has been much anticipated,” said Dave Hummel, Chief Executive Officer of Victrex plc. “In recent years, we have seen a significant increase in worldwide demand for our materials. We believe it is imperative for our capacity to stay ahead of demand so customers have ample supply of high quality products.”

Blair Souder, Commercial Director at Victrex commented, “our ongoing application development work with customers has to be supported as we grow the applications for VICTREX PEEK polymer as well as the pipeline for future opportunities. Planning for additional capacity is a critical part of our business strategy.”

The new plant’s design minimises energy consumption, reduces water consumption and provides improved effluent treatment. The new technology for treating effluent will also be implemented in the existing plant. The state-of-the-art plant is fully automated and operated from a central control room, making it highly cost effective.

“The new plant is a stand-alone facility that can operate completely independently of the existing facility, but it uses the same core technology,” said Tim Walker, Production & Technical Director at Victrex. “This independence is a vital back-up feature that will ensure the security of supply of VICTREX PEEK polymer. In addition, the new plant incorporates all of the Victrex proprietary technological improvements which we have made over the years to improve the quality and consistency of the material.”

The new plant is a versatile facility that will be used to make VICTREX PEEK polymer as well as specialty grade product lines such as VICTREX PEEK-HT? polymer, which has been the material of choice for a number of years in demanding industrial applications where extreme temperature performance is required. All production at the plant comes under Victrex’s existing ISO 9001 quality registration.

About Victrex

Lead Battery Recycling has become an intricate part of waste Battery management for most parts of the world. Battery Recycling by definition is the reuse of materials of Battery that would ordinarily be considered waste. Battery recycling plants require that the batteries be sorted according to chemistries. Some sorting must be done prior to the battery arriving at the recycling plants. Nickel-cadmium, nickel-metal-hydride, lithium-ion and Lead acid are placed in designated boxes at the collection point. Battery recyclers claim that if a steady stream of batteries, sorted by chemistry, were available at no charge, recycling would be profitable. But preparation and transportation add to the cost. All the elements of batteries are recycled and reused by manufacturing companies, which reduces the impact on the environment. Recycling reclaims a non-renewable resource.Lead Battery Shredding PlantThe most common raw material at a secondary Lead Recycling/ Smelting Unit is Lead Acid automotive batteries. Gravita is capable of furnishing Battery Shredding or Crushing Machines & equipments.

Batteries are typically unloaded from trailers, conveyors, or from pallets. The Scrap Batteries are fed through the belt conveyer feeder in to the Crushing Section, where it is crushed & broken into pieces. The crushed material is collected in the Tanks. The Plastic/separators are taken out. The Lead bearing material being heavier settles down in the Tank which is further collected which is laid on belt conveyer and is dried. The Dried Lead material is sent to Rotary Furnace raw material storage area and further for smelting.Lead recycling companies are furnishing from Semi-automatic based Lead Recycling/Smelting to PLC based machines for Lead Separation from the Batteries & further Recycling the obtained Lead.Lead Concentrate Smelting PlantLead Smelting plants recycle the lead ore which is recovered by blasting then dumping, In mining, the ore is extracted by drilling or blasting and then crushed and ground. The ore is then treated using extractive metallurgy. The Froth flotation process separates the Lead and other minerals from the waste rock (tailings) to form a concentrate. The concentrate, which can range from 50% to 60% Lead, is dried and then treated using pyrometallurgy. The concentrate is sintered before being smelted in to produce a 97% Lead concentrate. The Lead is then cooled in stages which cause the lighter impurities (dross) to rise to the surface where they can be removed. The molten Lead bullion is then refined by additional smelting with air being passed over the Lead to form a slag layer containing any remaining impurities and producing 99.9% pure Lead.
