by oskay Question by Bansuri Heartbeat: How can I control mice in my compost and prevent them from hanging out there in the future? I have been composting for a few years now, but only since last year have I been doing above-ground composting (I used to just bury it). I have a big plastic tube-like container that is freestanding and has holes all over the sides so the compost can “breathe,” and decompose more easily. There is no bottom and no lid. I put food scraps in my compost, as well as leaves from my yard and a good amount of soil to cover the food when it is added. I live in Montana where it is pretty cold from October to March. I know the mice are just bunkering down…. Click Here to Read More

BERKELEY, Calif. (PRWEB) August 20, 2007 ????Silicone hydrogels make possible a new generation of ‘super-permeable’ contact lenses that can transmit unprecedented amounts of oxygen to the cornea and, in some cases, enable 30 consecutive days of ‘extended wear’ without removal.
“Silicone-hydrogel contact lenses represent a breakthrough over traditional hydrogel soft contact lenses, because silicone permits so much more oxygen to pass through the lens, which is essential for a healthy cornea,” said Bob Ward. “In fact, these next-generation lenses allow six or seven times more oxygen to permeate than previous contact lenses, which is why they are becoming very popular with both wearers…. by yeetong Question by Ice: Should I seek medical help for a cut from a blade? I cut myself with a metal blade (scraper; was using it to scrap sticker off of a plastic board). It bled alot and didn’t stop bleeding even after I put alchohol/antibiotics(?) on it & bandaged it. The next morning I changed the bandage but it was still on the verge of bleeding –not clotting very well. The cut is about 1 inch? It’s pretty deep.. maybe 1/4 or 1/3 of an inch; on the palm/skin under the thumb.. it’s been throbbing too. I don’t know the last tetanus vaccination I got was. Should I be concerned & visit the hospital? or just let my body self-heal + hopefully it’ll clot & heal itself? Blade wasn’t…. Click Here to Read More

(PRWEB) January 19, 2005 As well as providing the materials for innovative design, polymers make a significant contribution to other long-life applications such as pipes, insulation, windows, cables and floor coverings. Consumption of plastics by the building and construction sector in Western Europe is predicted to rise by more than 60% to almost 8 million tonnes in 2010. This increase reflects a trend over the last 25 years, which has seen the building industry increasingly use plastics. Polymers are used very effectively for various structural and non-structural applications in construction, because they provide long-lasting and easy solutions. In the future, there will be few….
