Polypropylene is in the family of polyolefins and offers a combination of outstanding physical, chemical, mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties not found in any other thermoplastic. Polypropylene is highly resistant to corrosive materials, and has high temperature resistance along with superior resistance to solvents, degreasers, as well as electrolytic attack. Common uses are battery cases, acid handling equipment, metal plating barrels, and fume hoods. It has lower impact resistance than polyethylene.
