what are some ways to attach one piece to another without using glue?

I believe that most sculptors who work with metal usually weld pieces together to get the forms they want. Depending on what you’re using, no liquid adhesive bond can support the weight and tension of keeping two pieces of metal together. If you’re trying to attach sheet metal to sheet metal, you could probably bolt and rivet or solder the sheets, but anything bigger or heavier you’re most likely going to have to weld.

one of the best ways that my students use without fancy equipment is to simply drill small matching holes in the metal and use a pop rivet gun or wire twists. There is a glue that will work for it just make sure you mix it right and file, sand or grind on the parts where you are going to glue then together and then CLAMP THEM until they are completely dry … it is called PC-7 … its an industrial strength 2-component epoxy that works well IF U FOLLOW the directions good luck “found object” work is my favorite of all sculpture.
