How does doing these things help save the rainforest?

1. Recycle everything you can: newspapers, cans, glass bottles and jars, aluminum foil, motor oil, scrap metal, etc.
2. Don’t use electrical appliances for things you can easily do by hand, such as opening cans.
3. Use cold water in the washer whenever possible.
4. Re-use brown paper bags to line your trash can instead of plastic bags. Re-use bread bags and the bags you bring your produce home in.
5. Store food in re-usable containers, instead of plastic wrap or aluminum foil.
6. Save wire coat hangers and return them to the dry cleaners.
7. Take unwanted, re-usable items to a charitable organization or thrift shop.
8. Don’t leave water running needlessly.
9. Turn your heat down, and wear a sweater.
10. Turn off the lights, TV, or other electrical appliances when you are out of a room.
11. Flush the toilet less often. (If you cut flushing in half, you’ll save up to 16.5 gallons a day.)
12. Turn down the heat and turn off the water heater before you leave for vacation.
13. Recycle your Christmas Tree.

This saves the rain forest because if every christmas they cut like a 10,000 Christmas trees it affects the environment there will be too much polution if you recicle you can even save money think about it!! The plastic affect because the earth cannot destroy it. The use of less light means less power plants which is good because it causes cancer. If you leave water running we have less water to drink and whenthe water get recycle it is cleaner.
HOpe i helped im just 15

We have to be 100% honest with ourselves for just one moment. Almost everything on this list has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with rain forest conservation.

    1. You can reuse/recycle all of the newspaper/cans/glass/oil you so desire. These are products which for the most part ARE NOT made from rain forest natural resources. No matter how much oil or aluminum I reuse, this does NOTHING to curb deforestation. Paper products do have a small impact. If these products are land filled, they are buried locally, NOT shipped to rain forests.
    2. The rain forest is NOT a big electrical production resource. Coal and other fossil fuels are not as predominant here. Once again, even going solar, does nothing to curb deforestation.
    3. Hot water/electricity is not a big rain forest resource. See #2.
    4. Plastic is not a big rain forest resource. See #1.
    5. See above.
    6. Coat hangers are not a big resource either.
    7. Unless the item is teak or other specialty wood, it too has nothing to do with anything.
    8. Unless your water is pumped from the rain forest, see above.
    9. See above.
    10. See above.
    11. Unless your sewage drains to the rain forest, see above.
    12. See above.
    13. Pine trees are not native to most rain forests.

Most of these do NOTHING to positively impact the rain forest itself. Just as many trees were dozed regardless.

With that said, these ARE NOT efforts in futility. These are STILL good ideas overall, and many benefit your local area and the earth overall.

    Cheers.
